Overview
OSHA, Onsite Consultation and the GFAI formed an Alliance to provide the GFAI members and others with information, guidance, and access to training resources that will help them protect employees' health and safety, particularly in reducing and preventing exposure to fire, fall, confined space and amputation hazards and addressing issues of emergency action plans, exits, fire extinguishers, grain bin entry, working on top of railcars and machine guarding.

Ms. Zweber and Mr. Lee contacted each other by phone and email throughout the year.

Spring, 2005 (Activity prior to December 27, 2005 signing) to December 27, 2006
Alliance Activity
Ms. Zweber wrote three articles for the GFAI membership newsletters which went out to the 330 members at more than 1,000 facilities in Illinois. The articles covered fire protection/emergency action plans/exits, fall protection (including working on railcars) and machine guarding/amputation hazards. GFAI has requested a fourth article on confined space entry.
AAD Brian Bothast prepared OSHA power point slides for John Lee to present at the GFAI Annual Conference in Springfield.
Alliance Products
Ms. Zweber has requested copies of the newsletters with the OSHA articles in them.
Mr. Bothast created an OSHA power point presentation covering information on respiratory protections, scaffolding, fall hazards, excavations, accident investigations, and related safety and health information. It was provided to John Lee, GFAI Safety Director, just prior to their Annual Conference in Springfield, IL in February, 2006.
Results
Three articles were written: on fire protection/emergency evacuation/exits published in the Spring of 2005; and, articles on machine guarding and fall protection published in the Spring issue of 2006. GFAI has requested another article on confined space regulations and requirements for the 2007 Spring issue of their newsletter.
Mr. Lee used the OSHA power point provided by the OSHA Peoria Area Office for his presentation at the GFAI Annual Conference in February, 2006.
