Employee Is Found Dead By Drowning

At 6:00 p.m. on October 7, 2017, an employee had worked his normal shift and the n was assigned to stay and tend to the vessel overnight due to the anticipated w eather conditions related to Hurricane Nate. The employee left the vessel for a n extended time. While gone, the employee made multiple calls and reported his status to the Captain on duty. While conducting a walk around of the vessel, the Captain found the employee floating in the water between the bow of the vessel and dock/shore. There are no witnesses to what the employee was doing just prior to him being found in the water.
