Abstract:
Correction to July 13, 1989 (54:29545-6) notice.

Abstract:
Document amends the final rule published on December 4, 1987 (52:
46146) to correct typographical errors, include some information
inadvertently omitted, and to correct some inconsistencies in the
preamble and regulatory text.

Abstract:
In rule document 89-20245 appearing on page 35639 in the 890829
issue, the date "December 18, 1988" in the 1st column,11th line of
the Summary, should read "December 13, 1988".

Abstract:
The administrative stay of 29 CFR 1910.1048(m)(i) through (m)(4)(ii)
will be effective an additional nine months until June 13, 1990.
OSHA has not yet completed work on certain proposed amendments to
the Hazard Communication Standard (see 53:29822, 8/8/88). These
amendments are relevant to the decision as to whether it would be
appropriate to substitute the amended Hazard Communication Standard
for stayed paragraphs of the Formaldehyde Standard.

OSHA has extended the administrative stay of 29 CFR 1910.1048(m)(1) (i) through (m)(4)(ii), Occupational Exposure to Formaldehyde, for an additional 60 days. The stay will be effective until August 13, 1990. While this stay is in effect, employers must continue to comply with the provisions of OSHA''s Hazard Communication Standard. An administrative stay of the cited paragraphs was first announced 12/13/ 88, along with the intention to revoke the paragraphs and invite comments on replacing them with the Hazard Communication Standard (1910.

OSHA is extending the administrative stay of paragraphs (m)(1)(i) through (m)(4)(ii) of the final rule on Occupational Exposure to Formaldehyde until March 11, 1991. The stay had previously been extended until 12/11/90. OSHA is completing its re-evaluation of the need to stay these paragraphs, and more time is needed to complete the evaluation. The Administrative Stay for the final rule on occupational exposure to formaldehyde, paragraphs (m)(1)(i) through (m)(4)(ii), has been extended an additional 90 days, until 6/9/91. While the stay is in effect, affected employers must continue to comply with the provisions of OSHA''s Hazard Communication Standard. The final rule was published 12/4/87 (52 FR 46168).
