Scaffolding Slide Presentation Slide 53

Slide 53

TEXT VERSION OF SLIDE:

Title: Slide 53

Type: Image Slide

Content:

A closer look at the previous scaffold. The suspended scaffold is supported by ropes attached to portable ladders lying on the roof. Buckets and bags of sand were used for counterweights. The ladder coming off of the roof is actually MOVING (not enough counterweight!). On the right, the scaffold is attached to a 90-year-old fire escape that was ready to pull out of the building. To make matters worse, the overhead electrical wires you see in the slides are LIVE, and the whole scaffold is energized!!! Do you think a Competent Person was involved in the erection of this scaffold?

[Includes an image of a suspended scaffold with several safety violations]
