Employee crushed to death by a truck rolling backward

On September 26, 2001, an employee of Dennis Myers Repair was putting air in tire of scraper that was parked directly behind service truck. The service truck was parked in an area that had an approximate 3 percent grade. When truck engine was started so air compressor could be used, the truck rolled backward into the back tire of the scraper, crushing the employee against the scraper wheel and tire. The employee died of bruises, contusions and abrasions.
