- The Madison, Wisconsin Area Office developed a case study of an amputation from a jointer in a woodworking shop and sent it to high schools in the Madison area. (December 2017)
- As part of its Alliance with the Associated General Contractors (AGC) of San Antonio, the San Antonio, Texas Area Office provided a training session on amputation awareness for AGC members. (August 2018)
- The Little Rock, Arkansas Area Office hosted an Amputation Prevention Stand-Down to raise awareness about amputation hazards. During the two-week event, companies volunteered to hold stand-downs to provide information on the identification, mitigation, and elimination of amputation hazards. More than 4,500 workers were removed from amputation hazards. (September 2018)

- An OSHA Strategic Partnership construction site in Erie, Pennsylvania participated in the 2018 National Stand-Down to Prevent Falls in Construction. A safety training representative demonstrated fall protection equipment to approximately 100 workers. (May 2018)
- In support of the 2018 National Stand-Down to Prevent Falls in Construction, the Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania Area Office participated in toolbox talks at construction sites for a highway bridge and related road work. (May 2018)
- In support of the 2018 National Stand-Down to Prevent Falls in Construction, the Birmingham, Alabama Area Office gave presentations in English and Spanish at a stand-down event hosted by a construction company engaged in bridge construction projects. (May 2018)
- In support of the 2018 National Stand-Down to Prevent Falls in Construction, the Boston South, Massachusetts Area Office participated in a stand-down held by YouthBuild Boston. This event was for high school and young workers building an affordable house for the City of Boston through a partnership with YouthBuild Boston, the Carpenter's Union, and Madison Park High School. It featured training modules on scaffolding, ladders, aerial lifts, and personal fall protection equipment. (May 2018)

- The Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania Area Office conducted a workshop on OSHA topics for the Home Health Care Association. (December 2017)
- The Boston South, Massachusetts Area Office gave a presentation for the Massachusetts Occupational Nurses Association on OSHA recordkeeping requirements and other OSHA topics. (April 2018)
- The Englewood, Colorado Area Office gave a presentation for Pueblo Health Care physicians and medical office managers on various OSHA topics. (September 2018)

- The Oklahoma City, Oklahoma Area Office and the Little Rock, Arkansas Area Office conducted a Hispanic Construction Safety Seminar in Spanish for 35 attendees representing more than 400 employees. The training addressed frequently cited violations in the construction industry. (February 2018)
- In support of the 2018 National Stand-Down to Prevent Falls in Construction, the Birmingham, Alabama Area Office gave presentations in English and Spanish at a stand-down event hosted by a construction company engaged in bridge construction projects. (May 2018)
- The Austin, Texas Area Office gave speeches in Spanish at the local Mexican Consulate on "All About OSHA" and worker rights. (August 2018)

- The Georgia Area Offices and Associated General Contractors of Georgia held a cold weather safety stand-down to emphasize the importance of workplace safety during the winter months. The event reached 11,690 employees at 195 job sites. (January 2018)
- Area Offices in Florida and Georgia gave presentations on heat illness prevention and other topics during the Region 4 Heat Illness Prevention/Landscaping Safety Stand-Down. The event reached 37 employers and 6,500 workers. (April 2018)

- As part of its Alliance with the Mid Continent Exploration and Production Safety Network, the Oklahoma City, Oklahoma Area Office gave presentations on various OSHA topics to oil and gas industry safety professionals at monthly meetings. (October 2017 to September 2018)
- As part of its Alliance with the Mountain States Energy Alliance, the Denver, Colorado Area Office gave a presentation on silica to oil and gas employers. (May 2018)
- Through its Alliance with Region 6, the Association of Energy Service Companies (AESC) provided training to OSHA staff on the safety and health procedures used by the oil and gas well servicing industry and methods of compliance with OSHA regulations. This one-day training event in El Reno, Oklahoma, including classroom training and a demonstration of a well service rig in action. (August 2018)

- In support of Safe + Sound Week, the Boston, Massachusetts Regional Office participated in a workshop to assist organizations with emergency planning and community right to know, chemical safety, chemical facility and security, and chemical transportation. The workshop was a collaborative effort with an OSHA Education Center, Department of Homeland Security, Environmental Protection Agency, and other local, federal, and state partners. (August 2018)
- The Atlanta West, Georgia Area Office provided an update on OSHA's fatality investigations in Georgia during workshops held by the Associated General Contractors of Georgia during Safe + Sound Week. The workshops focused on the importance of management leadership in starting or enhancing a safety and health program. (August 2018)
- The Birmingham, Alabama Area Office participated in a Safe + Sound event held by Nucor Steel in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. The panel discussion focused on hazard recognition and control. (August 2018)
- In support of Safe + Sound Week, the Hartford, Connecticut Area Office provided an OSHA 10-hour course for the Connecticut Minority Construction Council. (August 2018)
- The Dallas, Texas Regional Office and the local OSHA Education Centers provided a free online presentation to raise awareness of the value of effective safety and health programs. (Sep. 2018)

- The Hartford, Connecticut Area Office gave a presentation on the hazards of silica in construction for the Connecticut Minority Construction Council. (Feb. 2018)
- The Dallas, Texas Regional Office and the local OSHA Education Centers provided a free one-hour video to raise awareness and understanding of silica. (March 2018)
- The Dallas, Texas Area Office gave a presentation in English and Spanish on silica in construction at an OSHA Strategic Partnership construction site. The OSHA representative used a public address system to inform more than 130 workers and managers about airborne crystalline silica exposure while dry cutting concrete bricks and sandblasting. (March 2018)
- As part of its Alliance with the Mountain States Energy Alliance, the Denver, Colorado Area Office gave a presentation on silica to oil and gas employers. (May 2018)

- The Kansas City, Missouri, Regional Office shared small business outreach resources with the Kansas City Federal Executive Board's Small Business Networking Group. (Dec. 2017)
- The Buffalo, New York Area Office gave a presentation at a seminar sponsored by the Small Business Development Center at Jamestown Community College. The presentation covered recordkeeping, an OSHA update, and a virtual inspection. (March 2018)
- The Chicago North, Illinois Area Office gave a presentation on the importance of accident prevention programs at an event sponsored by the Small Business Administration. (March 2018)
- OSHA's Boston Regional Office met with small business mentors from SCORE in Allston, Massachusetts, to provide OSHA information and resources. SCORE is a nonprofit association that helps thousands of entrepreneurs start and grow their small businesses. (Sep. 2018)
- The Englewood, Colorado Area Office gave a presentation to a community organization to discuss employee rights, OSHA's temporary worker initiatives, and reaching hard-to-reach workers. (Dec. 2017)
- The Birmingham, Alabama Area Office gave a presentation on protecting temporary workers at the Manufacture Alabama Safety/Health/Human Resources Conference. (April 2018)
- The Springfield, Massachusetts Area Office provided an OSHA Update at a one-day seminar on protecting the health and safety of temporary workers hosted by the Massachusetts Department of Labor Standards and the Massachusetts On-Site Consultation Program. (Sep. 2018)

- Region 6 participated in the West Texas Excavation Safety Day, which provided more than 300 attendees with training for first responders, "call before you dig" requirements, personal protective equipment demonstrations, and excavation safety demonstrations. The event was organized by the West Texas Damage Prevention Council in association with Texas 811. (October 2017)
- The Appleton, Wisconsin Area Office highlighted training relevant to small excavation companies at Utility Damage Prevention meetings sponsored by the Damage Prevention Council of Wisconsin and Diggers Hotline. (Jan. 2018)
- Region 5 partnered with the Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation, Allied Construction Industries, and Turner Construction to host a trench safety workshop in Cincinnati. The workshop came after a recent trench fatality in Ohio, with the goal to help prevent future fatalities, particularly in smaller residential construction operations. (May 2018)
- The Birmingham, Alabama Area Office worked with the Tennessee Valley Training Center to hold a trench safety stand-down in conjunction with the national trench safety stand-down. (June 2018)
- The Kansas City, Missouri Area Office participated in a trench safety stand-down at Arrowhead Stadium with 800 attendees. (July 2018)
- Region 6 and the North Texas National Utility Contractors Association (NUCA) co-hosted a trench training event in Texas for underground utility contractors and excavators on preventing trench-related hazards. The event provided more than 200 English- and Spanish-speaking attendees with information on work procedures, industry practices, incident trends and lessons learned, and compliance resources to reduce hazards. Topics included utility location, sloping and benching, trench boxes, shore systems, trenchless technology, confined space and retrieval gear, and emergency preparedness. This was the fourth event on trench safety training sponsored by Region 6 and North Texas NUCA. (September 2018)
- The Denver, Colorado Regional Office and the North American Excavation Shoring Association hosted the Colorado Trench Safety Summit to raise awareness of hazards and best practices. Nearly 400 attendees participated in the all-day event, which included training, live demonstrations, and a mock trench rescue from local first responders. (Oct. 2018)

- The Madison, Wisconsin Area Office sent a "Safety Spotlight on Young Workers" to 150 high school principals in the Madison area. (October 2017)
- The Birmingham Area Office gave a presentation to the youth enrolled in the Academy of Craft Training at Brewer High School in Somerville, Alabama. OSHA provided information on falls, scaffolding, power tools, amputations, and Safe + Sound Week. The Academy is a public/private partnership between the construction industry and the State of Alabama's K-12 education system with the mission to recruit, educate, and guide high school students for educational and employment opportunities in the construction industry. - The Allentown, Pennsylvania Area Office gave a presentation on various OSHA topics for students at the Bucks County Technical School. (April 2018)

- The El Paso, Texas Area Office provided information about OSHA's On-Site Consultation Program for small business employers at an event sponsored by the Small Business Administration at the El Paso Chamber of Commerce. (March 2017)
- Region 5 gave a presentation at an event organized by the Small Business Administration to a group of small business employers on the importance of safety and health programs. (January 2017)
- The Queens, New York District Office participated in a Small Business Administration seminar with current and future small business owners. OSHA staff provided information on employer rights and responsibilities, reporting requirements, and the On-Site Consultation Program. (October 2016)

- The Avenel, New Jersey Area Office gave presentations on the silica standard for various employers and associations, including the Masonry Contractors Association of New Jersey, New Jersey Bricklayers Association, Building Contractors Association of New Jersey, and New Jersey Asphalt Paving Association. - The Denver, Colorado Area Office provided an OSHA exhibit at the Associated General Contractor's Silica Day event. (Aug. 2017)

- The Columbus, Ohio Area Office gave a presentation on trenching safety to utility locators, utility owners, and excavators at a Damage Prevention Council meeting. (August 2017)
- The Syracuse, New York Area Office gave a presentation on excavation and trenching safety for the Operating Engineers Local 158. (April 2017)
- The Bismarck, North Dakota Area Office gave a presentation on safe trench practices to a local construction company. (March 2017)

- Boston South, Massachusetts Area Office participated in a 2017 National Safety Stand-Down to Prevent Falls in Construction event for inner city students learning the construction trade. OSHA worked with YouthBuild Boston, a vocational high school, and the apprentices from the Carpenter's Union Training Center. The event featured speeches from city and state officials and OSHA training on scaffolds and personal fall protection equipment. (June 2017)
- Atlanta East, Georgia Area Office gave presentations on fall prevention to Westside Works, a long-term neighborhood program focused on creating employment opportunities and job training for local residents. (April to June 2017)
- The El Paso, Texas Area Office gave a fall prevention presentation at T&T Staff Management, an Alliance participant, in support of the 2017 National Safety Stand-Down to Prevent Falls in Construction. (May 2017)

- The Savanna, Georgia Area Office presented a curriculum developed by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) on youth safety to over 500 teens at Savannah State University. (June 2017)
- The Oklahoma City Area Office gave a presentation for 120 high school trade students at a SkillsUSA competition. (Apr. 2017)

- The Oklahoma City Area Office provided a seminar on OSHA's heat illness prevention campaign for attendees from construction, general industry, grain handling, and oil and gas industries. (June 2017)
- The Columbia, South Carolina Area Office provided a heat stand-down for mail carriers and clerks in Wagener, South Carolina. (May 2017)
- Florida Area Offices gave presentations on heat illness prevention and other topics during the Region 4 landscaping stand-down. (April 2017)

- Area Offices in Texas and Louisiana participated in outreach and interventions at job sites during recovery operations after Hurricane Harvey. (Sep. 2017)
- The Corpus Christi Area Office discussed hurricane response and preparedness at the monthly meeting of the South Texas Exploration and Production Safety Network. (July 2017)
- The Houston North, Texas Area Office provided an OSHA booth at the annual Houston Hurricane Expo and distributed hurricane and safety hazard information, including Zika virus information. (June 2017)
- Area Offices in Georgia and Florida provided compliance assistance to contractors conducting cleanup operations after Hurricane Matthew. (Oct. 2016)

- Through its Alliance with the Mexican Consulate, the Birmingham, Alabama Area Office gave presentations during Labor Rights Week in Spanish on various safety and health topics, including silica, hazard communication, heat illness prevention, and falls in construction. Region 4 coloring books were distributed to attendees and their accompanying children. (August 2017)
- The Ft. Lauderdale, Florida Area Office provided a stand-down on landscaping safety for Hispanic workers at a neighborhood resource center. (April 2017)
- Region 6 participated in a 10-hour OSHA training marathon as part of its Alliance with the Hispanic Contractors Association of Texas. (April 2017)

- The Harrisburg, Pennsylvania Area Office gave a presentation on the walking-working surfaces standard for the Pennsylvania STEPS Network. (December 2016)
- OSHA Region 6, with the University of Texas at Arlington OSHA Education Center, co-hosted the 5th biennial OSHA Oil & Gas Safety Conference in Houston, Texas. The purpose of the conference is to foster a safer and healthier workplace while building a stronger collaborative relationship between oil and gas companies and regulatory agencies. (November 2016)

- The Denver, Colorado Area Office presented a webinar on bloodborne pathogens for the Colorado Hospital Association. (April 2017)
