   3. Overview:

      The U.S. Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Atlanta East, Atlanta West and Savannah, Georgia, Area Offices, the Georgia Tech Enterprise Innovation Institute – Safety, Health, and Environment Services Group (Georgia Tech), and the Georgia Department of Public Health, Division of Health Protection, Epidemiology Office (DPH). The focus of the Alliance to provide members and others with information, guidance, and access to training resources that will help them protect the health and safety of workers, particularly by reducing and preventing exposure to lead hazards in both general and construction industries.

      The ¹Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Georgia Highway Contractors Association (GHCA), Georgia Utility Contractors Association (GUCA), Associated General Contractors of Georgia, Inc. (AGC Georgia), Lamar Outdoor Advertising (Lamar), Georgia Power, Construction Ready (formerly the Construction Education Foundation of Georgia (CEFGA)), and Pike Electric formed an Alliance to share their collective expertise to safeguard general and construction industry workers exposed work zone and struck-by hazards.

      The implementation team included representatives from the following Alliance participants and stakeholders.

      OSHA, GHCA, GUCA, AGC Georgia, Lamar, Georgia Power, Construction Ready (formerly CEFGA), Pike Electric and GDOT.

      The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), the Southeastern Line Constructors Chapter of the National Electrical Contractors Association (SLCC/NECA), the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) 5th and tenth districts, and the Southeastern Line Constructors Apprenticeship and Training (SELCAT) work cooperatively to provide workers and others with information, guidance, and access to training resources that will help them protect employees’ health and safety, particularly in reducing and preventing exposure to electrical transmission and distribution equipment hazards.

2. Implementation Team Members and Meetings:

   Representatives from OSHA, SLCC/NECA, IBEW, and SELCAT communicated regarding the Alliance during the following periods:

   • December 14, 2023
   • April 18, 2024

   4. Alliance Overview and Goals

      The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and the Consulate General of Mexico in New Orleans, Louisiana formed an alliance to provide Mexican nationals in Mississippi and others information, guidance, and access to education and training resources to promote workers’ rights in protecting their occupational safety and health, and to help them understand U.S. domestic law on the rights of workers and the responsibilities of employers under the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSH Act).

2. Implementation Team Meetings

   The Alliance group primarily communicated with the Area Office via emails and telephone. The Alliance coordinators from both groups maintained regular contact throughout the reporting period to monitor the Alliance's progress and results.
