Employee Is Asphyxiated by Carbon Monoxide Poisoning

On February 15, 2012, Employee #1, a mechanic, was working alone on a tractor in an enclosed shop with doors and windows closed. A gas fueled heater vented to the outside was in the room. Employee #1 was found on the floor of the shop about four hours after he was last seen. Employee #1 was transported to the local hospital and was pronounced dead. The coroner's report listed the cause of death as respiratory arrest due to carbon monoxide toxicity, with the source of the carbon monoxide not known.
