Employee Is Injured in Fall from Ladder

At approximately 2:23 p.m. on August 7, 2013, an employee was working with two coworkers cleaning the surfaces of the winery tanks. They used cloth and metal polish and used A frame ladders to gain height and reached the top portion of the tanks. According to the employee, he was already done polishing the upper portion on the front of Winery Tank Number 17 and was descending the ladder when the ladder wobbled, causing him to lose his balance and fell to the ground. The employee was brought by ambulance to the Queen of the Valley, where he was hospitalized for four days for treatment of his fractured back and left side of his body.
