Worker Trips over Orange Cone, Fractures Arm

On March 24, 2013, Employee #1, a 81-year-old female with Oc Fair & Event Center was directing traffic in the parking lot after the event was finished for the day. There were some orange plastic cones placed in the area to indicate exit route for the traffic. As she was signaling a vehicle to proceed, she tripped on a plastic cone and fell onto her left arm. Employee #1 suffered two compound fractures to her left arm. Surgery was performed and she was hospitalized for two days. Employee #1 was not a contract employee. The employer was engaged in the management of fairs and other amusement events.
