Employee Amputates Finger in Chain and Sprocket

On March 2, 2013, an employee was attempting to grab a small honey container that fell over on the moving conveyor line of the Accraply label machine. During this process, another container moving along the conveyor line pressed against her right hand causing her right index finger to enter the pinch point of the unguarded chain and sprocket. As a result, the employee suffered a partial amputation of her right index finger. The employee was not hospitalized.
