Investigation Summary

Investigation Nr: 202553640
Event: 11/15/2011
Employee Stumbles, Falls and Injures Hip

On November 15, 2011, Employee #1, a daycare center aide, was carrying materials in her arms and returning from her afternoon break to the playground area. A coworker, another aide, was already on the playground and saw Employee #1 entering the area, when she appeared to stumble and afterwards had a pained expression on her face. She righted herself up and took a step, but upon taking a second step, she fell to a bricked surface. Emergency medical personnel were summoned. They arrived and transported her to a medical center, where she was admitted into surgery for a broken hip. Following the surgery, Employee #1 was hospitalized for postoperative care.
