Employee Injures Fingers on Table Saw

On November 15, 2011, Employee #1, a toolmaker, was shaping a plastic strip on a JET 12 in. tilting arbor table saw (Model Number JTAS-12-3LFR). While he was cutting the plastic strip, the piece kicked back and his fingers contacted the unguarded blade. The blade caused finger lacerations and multiple finger amputations. Employee #1 was transported to a medical center, where he underwent procedures to repair the hand injuries and was hospitalized to receive postoperative care.
