Employee Is Injured by Extreme Heat Exhaustion

On May 4, 2011, Employee #1, of Green Valley Harvest, Incorporated, was harvesting sugar peas. She worked from approximately 8:00 a.m. to approximately 11:00 a.m., and then decided to get a drink of water. Under the shade of an umbrella, she finished drinking her water and then fainted and collapsed. Employee #1 was transported to a clinic for emergency aid and then transported to Salinas Memorial Hospital for treatment of an elevated heartbeat. A defibrillator was used on Employee #1 to place her heart back into rhythm. She also underwent an unspecified surgery at the hospital.
