Farm Worker Fractures Hip in Fall from Ladder

Sometime before 2:00 p.m. on July 25, 2012, an employee was working as a farm laborer for the temporary labor agency Valley Oak Labor Services, Inc. She was working from an orchard ladder to harvest plums. She was standing on the fourth step of the ladder and was reaching for plums, when she fell off the ladder and landed on the ground. She fractured her hip. She was transported to Kaweah Delta Hospital and then on to Community Regional Medical Center, in Fresno, CA. The Cal/OSHA Fresno District office was notified by Valley Oak Labor Services, Inc., at 2:00 p.m. that same day.
