Employee Suffers Puncture Wound in Tractor Accident

At approximately 2:30 p.m. on August 23, 2011, an employee was operating a Massey Ferguson tractor while pulling a 600 gallon water tank for dust control on vineyard road. The employee lost control of the tractor and veered off the dirt road down an embankment stopping when it struck a grape vine. The employee bounced up off the tractors seat and his right leg landed on the transmissions gear shifter located in the center of the drive train. The shifter punctured the employee's right leg penetrating the upper inner thigh. The employee was transported to Regional Community Medical Center in Fresno, where he was hospitalized and treated for puncture wound to his upper right leg.
