Investigation Summary
On December 12, 2010, Employee #1, a student volunteer, was riding in a dump truck, when it rolled over and pinned him underneath. Employee #1 had been hanging outside of the vehicle without fastening his seat belt while traveling down an unpaved dirt road. As the vehicle made a left turn, it began to lean to the right and rolled over, and Employee #1 jumped off with the vehicle, which landed on top of him. Employee #1 was taken by ambulance to the hospital, and was diagnosed with broken ribs and pelvis.
