Employee Sustains Head Injury in Fall from Ladder

On July 31, 2010, Employee #1 was helping to harvest an orchard. The employee fell, approximately 7 ft to 10 ft, from an orchard ladder. Employee #1 suffered head trauma and was hospitalized. The information provided does not indicate the fall resulted of equipment failure or defect. The cause of the incident was determined as employee's misjudgment of working position and a loss of attention. The employer did have a health and safety program, including use of ladder and hazards associated with ladder use.
