Employee Amputates Finger While Using Table Saw

On October 11, 2010, Employee #1 was using a Powermatic table saw (Model Number 66) to trim 0.0625 in. from 1.5 in. wide by 2 ft long wood cabinet piece for a pullout tray. He did not use a push stick or block to move the wooden part through the circular saw blade. As he was cutting the wooden part, the piece jumped and his right middle finger was amputated at the first knuckle. He was transported to a medical center. At the medical center, Employee #1 received treatment and was released.
