Investigation Summary
On January 14, 2012, Employee #1 was using an air impact gun with a socket wrench, to tighten a shackle bolt on a trailer. As Employee #1 actuated the gun to tighten the bolt, a metal link between the bolt and trailer frame spun around striking him on his other hand that was resting against the frame. Employee #1 sustained a partial amputation to the finger, and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
