Employee Slips and Gets a Broken Foot

At approximately 11:00p.m., on March 16, 2011 Employee #1 of Coca Cola Bottling Company of Los Angeles was injured while performing her duties as a laborer. Employee #1 was attempting to step up from the shop floor onto a metal work platform one foot above the shop floor. As Employee #1 stepped on the work platform, Employee #1's foot slipped off the elevated work platform and she sustained a foot fracture. Employee #1's shoes had become slippery after contacting water and machine lubricants on the floor in her working area. The floor drain in this working area had been damaged during the installation of equipment two weeks prior to the accident.
