Employee Amputates Fingers on Chop Saw

At approximately 4:30 p.m. on September 16, 2010, an employee was using a chop saw to resaw lengths of 1.44 inch by 1.44 inch lumber. He had completed two pieces, but as he was sawing the third piece, his gloved right hand was caught under the chop saw's guard. The saw blade cut through the lumber and amputated parts of the index, ring, and small fingers on his right hand. He was hospitalized.
