Worker Fractures Ankle While Jumping Off a Stage

On July 10, 2012, Employee#1, a 27-year-old male of Pittsburg Unified School District, was leaving the stage where he had been checking to see what light bulbs were spent and needed to be replaced. Employee #1 jumped off a 3.5-foot stage in the auditorium and fractured left ankle. Employee #1 jumped off the stage instead of using the stairs that were available on either side of the stage. Employee #1 was hospitalized for more than 24-hours from the event and required surgery for the fracture at Sutter Delta.
