Employee Partially Amputates Fingers with Hedge Trimmer

On August 5, 2011, Employee #1 was operating a hedge trimmer and trimming bushes along the front entrance of a school. The hedge trimmer was a STHIL Model Number HS 45. As he used the trimmer, he caught his left middle and ring finger in its moving blades. The blades partially amputated both fingers below the nail. Employee #1 was transported to a medical center, where he was hospitalized for treatment and care.
