Instructor Is Murdered at Youth Correctional Facility

On February 18, 2010, Employee #1 was working as a teacher at the Cheltenham Youth Facility, in Cheltenham, MD. Employee #1 had been left alone with one of the youths in the facility's ReDirect unit, and her body was found the next morning lying in the snow. She had been brutally beaten and murdered while at work. According to departmental policy, youths were never to be alone with teachers.
