Employee dies by vehicle

On March 16th, 2010, Employee #1 of Walsh Construction was working patching potholes on I-80/94 west of Central Avenue at the 13.8 mile mark along with Employees #2 and #3 from Walsh Construction and a subcontractor. The area where pothole work was being performed was barricaded using barrels, signs indicating lane closures and an attenuator truck for additional safety located behind the employees. A vehicle entered the barricaded construction area where 2 lanes had been closed down for the work of patching potholes. The vehicle passed the attenuator truck on the left, fatally striking Employee #1.
