Employee Collapses and Dies from Hyperthermia

Between approximately 1:00 p.m. and 2:44 p.m. on August 2, 2010, Employee #1 and coworkers were laying curb and gutter formwork in preparation for a concrete pour scheduled the following day. The wooden formwork was being constructed at the intersection of a highway and street. The employee collapsed near a portable toilet and was found later by coworkers. Employee #1 was pronounced dead at 2:44 p.m. An autopsy was conducted and hyperthermia was listed as the cause of death. The employee was on his first day of work for the employer.
