Investigation Summary

Investigation Nr: 202600052
Event: 10/16/2009
Employee Foot Is Lacerated by Caterpillar

At approximately 11:45 a.m. on October 16, 2009, an employee was washing the track of the Caterpillar D9T when the spray tip passed over his boot, penetrating the boot and peeled his skin near the two small toes on the injured left foot. The track of the Caterpillar D9T was measured at approx 4-ft 6-in. off ground and approximately a foot wide. The clinic treated and released the employee and a few days later his foot had an infection which caused him to get treated and admitted to Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital for three days.
