Employee Fractures Spine in Fall Through Skylight

On October 14, 2009, an employee was working on a flat composition roof and placed his hand onto a plexiglass skylight for support. The employee subsequently fell through the skylight, a distance of approximately 12.5 feet onto the flooring below. The employee sustained several compression fracture of the spine and was hospitalized.
