Employee's Fingeris Amputated Crushed Between Beam & Rack

On March 3, 2011, Employee #1 and Employer #2 were loading a steel "C" beam 2 inches thick and 6-feet long. The beam weighed approximately 60- 70 lbs. While trying to clear a rack installed on the back of a Ford, F550 pick-up truck, the beam slipped hitting his ring finger and pinching it between the rack and the beam. Employee #1 suffered an amputation of his right ring finger tip. Employee #1 was a permanent full-time employee of this employer.
