Employee Falls Off the Roof and Gets a Broken Ankle

On March 16, 2011, Employee #1 of California Alpha Painting & Maintenance, Inc., was working on top of the roof of the garage of a two-story house. He was power washing the exterior walls on the second story in order to prepare it for painting. While near the edge of the roof, he slipped and fell down 9 feet and 6 inches onto a concrete walkway. He was not utilizing any fall protection. Employee #1 suffered two broken bones in his right ankle. Surgery was performed to repair the damage and he was hospitalized for three days.
