Electrician Is Burned from Arc Flash

At approximately 8:40 a.m. on June 9, 2009, Employee #1, a journeyman electrician with Southern California Edison, was troubleshooting a system. While troubleshooting a recently rebuilt transformer, Employee #1 attached a voltage meter to the meter which was energized with 4,160 volts, resulting in an arc flash. Employee #1 was hospitalized for burns to this face and hands.
