Investigation Summary
At approximately 1:15 p.m. on June 23, 2010, Employee #1, a roofer, was working at a school. As he climbed down from the roof of a c-train storage unit using the truck bed railing on a scissor lift for support, Employee #1 slipped and fell 6 to 8 feet to the parking lot. Employee #1 was taken to a local hospital, where he was hospitalized and treated for fractures to his left hip and pelvis bones. The accident investigation revealed that there was a ladder on the scissor lift truck that was available to Employee #1 and appropriate for climbing on and off of the roof. Employee #1 has used the ladder previously that day to ascend and descend the same roof.
