Employee's Leg Is Crushed by Dune Buggy

At approximately 2:00 p.m. on February 23, 2009, an employee was working on a modified dune buggy that was sitting on an automotive lift ramp. As the employee tried to start the vehicle while standing on the side of it, it lurched forward and started moving down the angled ramp. In the effort to stop the vehicle, the employee's leg got caught under the rear tire and the bottom section of the ramp. The employee sustained a fracture to his right leg tibia and fibula. He was transported to Hanford Community Hospital in Hanford, CA, where he was hospitalized and treated for a fractured leg.
