Employee's Thumb Is Pulled Into Running Pulley

At approximately 8:05 a.m. on November 6, 2008, Employee #1, a mechanic, had changed a drive belt on an auger without locking out the system. While he was testing the tension on the new belt, a coworker turned on the machine. The employee's left thumb was pulled into the in running pulley. The Employee #1 was taken to the Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno, California but was not hospitalized.
