Accident Investigation Summary
Summary Nr: 202483699Event: 11/08/2008Employee Falls And Hits Head On Concrete Floor; Later Dies
On November 8, 2008, Employee #1 was working at the Concierge Desk of a beach resort. As she was attempting to walk around the desk to assist a customer, her foot caught on the excess phone cord, tripping her. She fell through a small gate and hit her head on the concrete floor. She got up with the assistance of coworkers and returned to work. After several minutes, coworkers noticed she was having trouble speaking and she started to exhibit other signs of head injury. Emergency Medical Services were called, and she was taken to the hospital. Employee #1 died on November 14, after being taken off of life support.
