Employee's Finger Is Amputated When Struck by Object

At approximately 9:30 a.m. on October 17, 2008, Employee #1 worked for a recycle-salvage facility, specializing in demolition of mechanical components. Employee #1 was working in the salvage yard and neglected to chain down a rod which flipped up, striking and crushing his finger. He was hospitalized and his finger was surgically removed.
