Worker Is Injured in Fall Into Trench

At approximately 10:10 a.m. on January 30, 2009, Employee #1, of TC Construction Company, was working at a trench area. He was standing on top of the trench box installing a 12 foot steel plate for the end of the box. A 460 excavator was being used to maneuver the steel plate and struck the trench box, causing Employee #1 to fall between the box and the trench walls. He was hospitalized for fractures and other unspecified injuries.
