Employee Is Injured When Struck by Bob Cat

On September 26, 2008, a foreman was operating a Bob Cat S300 to excavate a hole that would be 10 ft deep. He was not trained on using this equipment. Attached to the Bob Cat was an 8 ft long Augur bit, 36 in. in diameter. As the foreman moved the Bob Cat, he struck Employee #1 under his chin and knocked him down onto the concrete sidewalk. Employee #1 was hospitalized with bruises and contusions to his face and chin.
