Employee's Hand Is Punctured Between Trailer and Hitch

On November 18, 2008, Employee #1 and a coworker were attempting to attach a towable compressor to a truck for transport. The coworker was pushing the compressor from behind, while Employee #1 held on to the tongue of the trailer to guide the compressor onto the trailer hitch. Employee #1 attempted to stop the forward momentum of the trailer by placing his hand in front of the trailer tongue. His hand became caught between the trailer tongue and the hitch attached to the truck. Employee #1 received a puncture in his left hand and was hospitalized.
