Employee Loses Partial Finger in Accident

At approximately 8:45 a.m. on May 17, 2010, Employee #1 suffered a serious injury while adding a kerf to a piece of wood using a Cimmco automatic joint nail kerfer. Employee #1 was adding a kerf at both ends of a piece of wood for cabinet drawer fronts. While Employee #1 reached in to remove the piece of wood, he unintentionally pressed the foot pedal causing the saw to lower and amputate his right index finger at the distal joint. Employee #1 was transported and treated at Community Memorial Hospital.
