Employee's Finger Is Amputated by Conveyor Belt and Gears

At 12:00 p.m. on November 8, 2010, Employee #1, a primary employee, was apparently taking a food product, "Quiche", from a moving conveyor belt and packaging it. A fixed guard covering the moving parts came off, and Employee #1's left hand was accidentally caught in the nip point of the conveyor belt and the sprocket gears drive. The first digit of Employee #1's left middle finger was amputated. Employee #1 was admitted to St. Rose Hospital, treated, and discharged at 11:00 p.m. on the same day.
