Investigation Summary

Investigation Nr: 202488110
Event: 10/03/2008
Employee Is Injured in Fall from Beam

On October 3, 2008, an employee had to complete framing work from a beam, which was properly connected at both ends. But due to its length, the employee also braced it with a two by four, placed from the beam to an exterior wall to make sure it would not move. While the employee was standing on the beam, a coworker was cleaning debris from the area and inadvertently dislodged the two by four support, which caused the beam to move enough for the employee to loose his balance and fall approximately 11 feet, 6 inches to the floor. The employee was hospitalized and treated for multiple fractures.
