Investigation Summary
At approximately 3:00 p.m. on April 28, 2008, Employee #1, a carpenter, was working at a job site located in Los Gatos, CA. He was blocking the outside portion of the house by placing boards between the joists. As he worked, he lost his footing and fell, striking the ground and injuring his back. Coworkers ran and gave him assistance. Emergency medical personnel were summoned. They arrived and transported him to Valley Medical Center in San Jose, where he was treated for back injuries, which included vertebral fractures. After receiving the treatment, he was hospitalized. He was not wearing fall protection at the time of the incident.
