Employee's Foot and Ankle Fractured in Conveyor Belt

On September 27, 2007, Employee #1 was sorting scrap metal product on a conveyor belt directing product to a Lindemann baler. A coiled scrap metal wire being pulled towards the baler, hooked onto his left ankle. He was knocked down to the conveyor belt which pulled him along until his left foot was caught between the conveyor belt and the guard. He was trapped for approximately half an hour until the fire department freed him. He was hospitalized with a fractured foot and ankle.
