Employee Is Killed When Struck by Flying Object

On September 8, 2009, Employee #1 and a coworker were working on a road construction project standing in the median waiting for work to begin. The rear dual wheels of a tractor-trailer rig came off of the rig, careened into the median, and struck them. The coworker suffered injuries but was not recorded. Employee #1 was killed.
