Employee's Fingers Are Amputated in Machine

On November 6, 2007, an employee was punching expanded metal into a machine called a flattener. As the employee was pushing the metal into the machine, his glove on his right hand became trapped in metal, pulling his hand into machine. The emergency stop was activated but rolls on machine continued to turn. The employee's middle three fingers and part of little finger were crushed and amputated. The employee was hospitalized and treated for an amputation.
