Investigation Summary

Investigation Nr: 202507331
Event: 09/23/2009
Drywall Sheets Fall on Employee; Fractures Foot

At approximately 12:30 PM on September 23, 2009, two employees were working to repair a hole in the subfloor. Drywall was stacked on the floor in the room that was approximately 11 feet by 12 feet. The employees moved approximately 20 drywall sheets that were 4 feet by 12 feet up against the wall to repair the floor. Employee #1 decided that the drywall sheets needed to be less vertical to the wall. Employee #1 was on the floor and used a hammer to pull the sheets away from the wall. The drywall sheets toppled over and Employee #1 was hit by stacked drywall that fell. Employee #1 was caught under them and fractured his left foot.
