Investigation Summary
On July 9, 2007, Employee # 1 and #2, both police officers, made a routine car stop. The vehicle and the plates were stolen. When Employee #1 approached the vehicle, he was shot twice in the face by the individuals that were in the vehicle. When Employee #2 came to his fellow officer's aid, he was shot in the chest and his left arm. Employee #2 proceeded to squeeze off several rounds from his weapon as well as call for help before he collapsed. The suspects left the scene, abandoning the car and their weapons. One suspect was apprehended, while others were still being sought out by the police. Employee #1 was killed, while Employee #2 was hospitalized and treated for his injuries.
