Worker Is Killed after Falling from Mezzanine Platform

On August 27, 2009, Employee #1, a Parts Manager of Volvo of Savannah, was checking a serial number from an auto part located on a raised mezzanine storage area. He used an aluminum extension ladder to access the mezzanine area and he apparently fell off the unguarded mezzanine to the floor (approximately 10 feet). There were no witnesses to the incident. Employee #1 was hospitalized and died due to blunt force trauma to his head.
